Chief Legal Officer Announces Retirement

Tom McGough, UPMC’s Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, has announced his intent to retire at the end of this year.

McGough joined UPMC in February 2011 from Reed Smith, where he was a partner, member of the executive committee and chair of the litigation department.

His long and illustrious legal career included clerking for Justice William H. Rehnquist of the Supreme Court of the United States, serving as an assistant United States attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania before joining Reed Smith, and guiding many complex legal and political situations throughout UPMC’s growth and regional expansion.

“Tom has served UPMC well and we are all grateful for his support, guidance, and leadership,” said Leslie Davis, President and CEO, UPMC.
