Press Ganey Recognition Awarded to UPMC for High-Quality Patient Experiences

Each year, Press Ganey recognizes standout organizations that role model putting the human experience at the heart of health care.
Five UPMC organizations, spanning two continents, earned the prestigious Guardian of Excellence Award® for creating outstanding patient experiences in the 2023 Human Experience Awards by Press Ganey.

UPMC Renaissance Family Practice The UPMC Renaissance Family Practice team has earned this profound recognition six years in a row. The practice includes seven locations centered around UPMC St. Margaret and provides exceptional care for people of all ages.
IRCCS ISMETT – UPMC The Mediterranean Institute for Transplantation and Highly Specialized Therapies (ISMETT) is a Scientific Institute of Hospitalization and Care (IRCCS) located in Palermo, Italy on the island region of Sicily. UPMC-ISMETT is an advanced tertiary care hospital, a leader in the field of organ transplantation, cardiothoracic and abdominal surgery, and highly specialized therapies.
UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Villa Maria For the second year in a row, Villa Maria, a UPMC Hillman Cancer Center radiation oncology center in the region of Campania in Italy, has been awarded this prestigious honor. The facility provides state-of-the-art radiotherapy treatments and stereotactic radiosurgery for patients.
UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at San Pietro Fatebenefratelli (FBF) UPMC Hillman Cancer Center’s Rome location, the first UPMC Hillman in Italy, earns its second Guardian of Excellence Award in a row. The center offers innovative radiotherapy treatments and stereotactic radiosurgery for patients in Rome and the surrounding region.
UPMC Hamot Erie Physicians Network A three-time winner of the Guardian of Excellence, Erie Physicians Network provides high-quality patient care to northwestern PA patients in a variety of specialties.

What It Means to Be a Guardian of Excellence
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience honors health care organizations that have consistently earned patient experience results in the 95th percentile throughout the year.
This means patients rated their health care experiences at such high levels that these organizations are performing in the top 5% among all providers in the Press Ganey database.
Press Ganey works with more than 41,000 health care facilities across multiple countries, focused to enhance health care provider resilience to improve patient safety, quality and experiences.
