Today, UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh announced that hundreds of people in Western Pennsylvania will have the opportunity to participate in phase III clinical trials for vaccines against COVID-19.
The trials will be led by Judy Martin, M.D., director of the Pittsburgh Vaccine Clinical Trials Unit at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and Sharon Riddler, M.D., director of clinical research in Pitt’s Division of Infectious Diseases.
This afternoon, Martin and Riddler fielded questions from the media about what these trials mean for people in our region.
