Peppermint-Striped and Sweet As Can Be: UPMC Celebrates Holiday Newborns

Newborns at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, and 14 other regional UPMC hospitals with labor/delivery services, celebrated the holidays, dressed as the sweetest candy canes in one-of-a-kind peppermint-striped hats and booties. Each year, UPMC Magee nurse, Caitlin Pechin, crochets special holiday outfits for Magee newborns on the mother-baby unit. This year, Caitlin created a crochet pattern that was shared with local knitting and crochet groups at each of the participating UPMC hospitals for the first system-wide holiday celebration.
