At a media availability held this morning, Dr. Graham Snyder, medical director of infection prevention, Tami Minnier, chief quality officer, and Dr. Donald Yealy, senior medical director and chair of emergency medicine, answered questions from local and regional reporters about COVID-19 in our communities.
As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in western Pennsylvania specifically, Snyder, Minnier and Yealy all emphasized the importance of following public health guidance, encouraging people to wear a mask in public spaces, stay home if they are not feeling well and to wash their hands frequently. If a person tests positive for COVID-19 or if they are notified through contact tracing that they may have been exposed, it is important to take the quarantine and self-isolation instructions seriously to avoid exposing others.
