Vote Now: UPMC Dances for Breast Cancer Awareness

By: Melissa Allen

Over the past two months, staff across UPMC participated in the taping of the 2013 UPMC CancerCenter Pink Glove Dance, a competition sponsored by Medline to raise awareness about breast cancer. This year’s video showcases a variety of undeniably brave survivors and displays how more than 200 compassionate physicians, staff and community members can rally together against breast cancer.
Last year, UPMC CancerCenter placed 9th out of more than 250 submissions in the national competition. If chosen this year as the first-place winner of $25,000, UPMC CancerCenter will donate the prize to Hair Peace Charities, a nonprofit that helps women and girls buy wigs while undergoing chemotherapy treatment for any type of cancer.

Winners of the contest will be selected based on votes. Visit the Pink Glove Dance website now through Friday, Nov. 8 to view UPMC CancerCenter’s video and vote. You can vote once per day, per email, so be sure to visit the site and vote every day!
